Collaborate on a Existing Event

  • What service events are coming up?

Browse the CEC calendar linked below or stop by the CEC, KL 190, to learn more about upcoming service events.

      • What works for you?

Please select an existing CEC service event for collaboration. NOTE: Reach out to us at least three weeks prior to your requested event date to ensure sufficient time for thorough planning and preparation.

        • Who to contact and how?

The CEC is dedicated to providing the necessary resources for outreach. Please utilize our 'Collaborate on a Existing Event' template when initiating collaboration requests.

          •

          • The service event has been completed. What are the next steps?

Post-event follow-up is just as essential as the planning phase when collaborating with the CEC. Both are key to ensuring a successful outcome!

            • Encourage/remind students to submit their hours on Catlife.
            • Send event roster and pictures to communityengagement@ucmerced.edu in a timely manner.
            • Deliver service project to organization/group (e.g. Deliver hygiene kits to D. St. Shelter - if applicable).

Plan a Service Event from Start to Finish

      • Where do I start?

Before committing to plan an event from start to finish, we encourage you to review the CEC calendar linked below. If you are organizing the event independently, it is your responsibility to reach out to the organization, group, or individuals your service project intends to support. Please refer to the recommended steps outlined below.

        • Choose the date, time, project and location for your event.
        • Contact the organization, group, or individuals your service project aims to support, and confirm the specific resources they require. Do not assume their needs - ensure alignment with what you plan to provide (see Step 2 for further details).
        • If you wish to collaborate with the CEC for your event, please specify the type of involvement you would like from us (e.g., CEC representative attendance, CEC materials, etc.).

      • Not sure who to contact or how to get started?

The CEC team is happy to assist you in finding the appropriate point of contact — especially if we already have a relationship with the organization you're interested in partnering with. Just let us know!

You can use the following email/message template when contacting potential community partners:

        • The partnering organization said yes to your service project! What is next?

When event logistics are confirmed please reach out to the CEC team. The CEC is committed to providing the proper resources for outreach. Please use our 'Start to Finish' template when reaching out to collaborate NOTE: Please reach out to us no later than three weeks prior to your requested event to ensure sufficient time for thorough planning and preparation.
