Attention All Bobcats!!!!!
We are looking for new Tutor Mentors to volunteer at the Harvest Park Educational Center (HPEC)! This is a fantastic opportunity to work directly with the students of John Muir Middle School, providing them with the extra support they need to succeed in their educational journey.
As a Tutor Mentor, you will be more than just a tutor. You'll be a friendly face, a motivator, and a guide, helping students grow academically and emotionally. This rewarding role will give you hands-on experience and the chance to make a lasting impact on the lives of young learners.
Responsibilities:
- Assist students with homework, reading, and supplemental worksheets.
- Lead sessions focusing on literacy, grammar, and socio-emotional learning.
- Track and document student progress through daily case notes and reading logs.
Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in a UC, CC, or HS for the current semester
- Must maintain passing grades
- Negative TB Test
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check ( DOJ)
Weekly Schedule:
- Monday: Principle-Based Lifestyle Training & Socio-Emotional Learning
- Tuesday-Thursday: Literacy sessions and academic support
- Friday: Grammar/Writing sessions and academic support
Key Dates & Things to look out for:
- Orientation: December 16-18, 1:00 PM - 5:30 PM
- Program Duration: January 6 - May 30 (Students must avaliable for the entire duration of the program to be eligible for the Stipend)
Additional Details:
- Part-time opportunity with a maximum of 21 hours!
- Compensation: Eligible for an educational stipend upon program completion
- Location is onsite at John Muir Middle School in Merced, California
