FERC Pollinator Garden Stewardship with Merced Vernal Pools & grassland reserve
Celebrate Biodiversity Day with us by helping prepare the FERC Pollinator Garden for future planting.
Volunteers will assist with solarization, a low-disturbance method for suppressing non-native grasses and improving site conditions for pollinator habitat. Activities may include: Creating shallow trenches around the garden footprint Removing grass where needed Watering the site Installing and securing clear plastic with landscape pins and rocks .

Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Check-in: 8:50 AM
Location: Meet at Ranchers Road Bridge (on the corner of Ansel Adams & Ranchers Road, near SSB) at 8:50 AM. We will then drive students to the Field Education and Research Center where the service project will take place.
Earn: Earn 3 CatLife Hours!
PLEASE NOTE: Volunteers will be provided a light lunch courtesy of the Office of Sustainability.
WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING:
Closed-toe shoes and long pants (required)
Water bottle (required)
Hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses (strongly recommended)
