USDA Food Distribution

August 2021: AmeriCorps Fellows Pre-Service Orientation

AmeriCorps fellows completed direct service at the USDA Food Distribution (Drive-Thru Model) at Merced College. It was a 3 hour event where they handed bags of food to Merced community members as they waited in their vehicle.

Adventure and Service

September & November 2021

The CEC teamed up with the LLC students and headed over to the San Luis Reservoir in two 3-hour events where they did a park clean up. A total of 17 students attended!

Fahrens Park Clean Up

October 2021

The CEC teamed up with the Chancellor's Office and the City of Merced in a 3 hour park clean-up at Fahrens Park. There were over 60 UC Merced students and staff that participated and enjoyed a barbecue at the end!

Restorative Justice League Conference

October 2021

UCM volunteers helped at this 6- hour conference at Los Banos Junior High School on October 1st. 56 UCM students were able to help out in this event by being workshop leaders and event facilitators!

Zpooky Nights

October 2021

This 3-day event was held at Applegate Park Zoo, where volunteers helped by setting up, decorating, assisting in crafts, disinfecting, and cleaning up the event.

Field of Honor

November 2021

During this 2-week long event, volunteers helped to set up flags, clean-up events, and operate booths. Thank you to all of our volunteers and AmeriCorps Fellows who helped out!

Words to the Wise

November 2021

The CEC hosted two events where students made creative holiday cards for seniors at Park Merced. Students created a total of 61 cards for our senior friends.

Empty Bowl Project

December 2021

The CEC hosted 9 bowl painting events. Each of the painted bowls will be sent to the D Street Shelter to be cured then to be used during their Spring Soup Fundraiser. A total of 110 bowls were painted!
