How It Works
Volunteers must be 17 or older to sign up.
Calls are connected based on your timezone and language. You'll only receive calls in your daytime hours (8am to 9pm), and the blind user will speak the same language as you.
When a call is answered, a live one-way video (two-way audio) is initiated, allowing you as a volunteer to see what’s in front of the user’s camera and provide verbal support.
Step #1
Download the Be My Eyes App.
The Be My Eyes app is free to download on both Android & iOS devices.
Currently, there are 4,036,914 volunteers!
Step #2
Create a Be My Eyes account.
Make sure to register as a sighted volunteer!
Then, allow access to microphone and notifications to be able to receive Be My Eyes video calls.
Step #3
Learn how to answer Be My Eyes calls & prepare for your first call.
Visit bemyeyes.zendesk.com to view information, resources, and tutorials for sighted volunteers.
You can even answer a practice call!
Step #4
Wait to receive your first call!
You can receive calls as long as you're logged in to Be My Eyes, you don't need to have the app open.
Be patient, it may take a while before you receive your first call.
