If so, you are cordially invited to apply for the University Friends Circle Community Service Organization Award!
This award recognizes student clubs or organizations for exemplary service in the community surrounding UC Merced. The University Friends Circle may present multiple organizations with a $1,000 award to support continued community service efforts.
Deadline for submissions: Monday, March 9, 2026 at 11:59 PM
Finalist notification: Organizations selected for an interview will be notified by March 31st
Interviews: Wednesday, April 8 and Thursday, April 9 in KL 184D (Student Career Center Conference Room). At least 3 members of the organization must be present for the interview.
Application Details
The application will ask for nominee/nominator information and responses for 6 short-answer prompts. Only information provided through the form will be used to select finalists. Self-nominations are allowed and encouraged!
Important: Each organization must submit only one application. If your organization chooses to apply, please select one member to serve as the official representative and submit the application on behalf of the entire organization. Multiple organizations may receive this award.
Nominated organization must:
- Be in good standing with the university
- If selected as a finalist, agree to an interview with the UFC Scholarship Committee (typically held in April). At least 3 members of the organization must be present for the interview.
Interview Preparation
Organizations invited to the interview should prepare with the following information:
- What is your organization's mission and values? How did the service your organization provide align with your mission and values?
- How is the organization planning to improve (or build on) its current service initiatives?
We encourage the members attending the interview to dress business casual! A good first impression goes a long way!
