Community & climate action spring break

 Sunday, March 21, 2026 to Friday, March 26, 2027

The Community Engagement Center invites interested students to attend an Information Session to learn more about the Community & Climate Action Spring Break 2027 experience. This immersive service-learning program offers students the opportunity to participate in one of three unique climate action experiences, each focused on climate action, environmental stewardship, and environmental justice while partnering with communities and organizations throughout California.

Choose Your Experience

  1. Team Yurok will partner with the Yurok Tribe Environmental Program to explore Indigenous approaches to environmental stewardship, sustainability, and climate resilience.
  2. Team Altadena will collaborate with Habitat for Humanity on community recovery efforts, supporting families impacted by wildfires while examining the connections between climate change, housing, and environmental justice.
  3. Team Yosemite will work alongside National Park staff on projects that support conservation, visitor services, and the stewardship of one of California's most treasured natural resources.

To participate, students must attend one mandatory info session and be available for a series of Thursday lunch seminars (12 - 1 PM) to prepare for the trip. The mandatory Thursday lunch seminars (if accepted to the program) will take place on the following dates:
