How It Works
CoachArt Connect is a non-profit organization that matches chronically ill children in LA, the Bay Area, and San Diego with volunteer coaches who wish to teach kids a new hobby or skill. By working with these children, you will bring a sense of normalcy back into their lives and help them see themselves as artists and athletes, not just as patients. Read below to learn more about the volunteer process and how to get started! Please visit coachart.org/volunteer/ for more information and to sign up!
Step #1
Visit Coachart.org to learn more about this service opportunity.
CoachArt matches volunteers with kids for eight 1-hour lessons, with flexible scheduling for volunteers!
Step #2
Register for CoachArt Connect.
The short registration will ask for your personal information as well as the primary skill you would like to share and your expertise level.
Step #3
Get prepared!
Look through the resources provided by CoachArt which includes lesson plans, activity ideas, templates, and more!
Step #4
Find kids near you that you want to work with!
CoachArt will show you children near you who want to learn a new skill or hobby. Then, you will be able to choose a child that you're interested in working with.
Step #5
Propose a schedule to the parents of the child that you are interested in working with.
Wait for a confirmation from the parents to make sure that the schedule works for them and their child!
Step #6
Begin teaching!
By working with these children and teaching them a new skill, you will be making a positive difference in their lives by helping them see themselves as artists and athletes, not just as patients!
